Fr Michael's funeral will be on Friday 14th November at 12 noon at St Peter's.
St Peter’s church has been in vacancy from October 1st 2025, following the retirement of Fr Michael.
It is with great sadness that we now have to announce the sudden death of
Fr Michael on Friday, October 17th.
Fr Michael has faithfully served the parishes of St Peter and St Werburgh since his induction to St Peter’s on December 3rd1991. The two churches became a joint benefice in 1993. The congregations are devastated.
The churchwardens are working hard to keep services going during the inter regnum, helped by Fr Edmund Betts and Fr Geoffrey Hardman. Details of services can be seen on the newsheet.
